My Reveries

Lost in the paradise of reveries
Living in the moments I choose
Sometimes laughing in revelries
Sometimes suffering in blues

I get the canvas and colors
And all the world's freedom
Still I pick such different shades
What could be the reason

The celebrations let me indulge
The relationships make me smile
The glooms make me feel grateful
The blooms make it all seem worthwhile

On the screens of pink or purple
I feel joy in what I endure
Because In the clutter and chaos of the world
I manage to find something pure

On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Burlingame, CA

Ego

At 10 pm when they went to bed
Something came up and made them upset
Talking didn't help so both went quiet
And slowly turned over to their sides
Couldn't keep aside their anger, their pride

They  knew it was something really absurd
They knew both of them very much cared
Still none of them said a word
And once again the vanity won and silence lingered

Both trying to sleep with eyes wide open
Silently hoping for something to happen
While justifying their own conceit
Waiting for the other one to kill the demon

Suddenly he felt the qualms inside
It was all for nothing he realized
He loved her so shouldn't let his ego thrive
And should let the worthless vanity subside

To turn toward her he started to move
And she had been just waiting for the cue
Finally when they hugged tight
Once again every thing felt right
Just that now it was past midnight

The Hike

The mountain seems high
so far in the sky
should you even try

Yes, you should !!
look down, you have already come so far
don't frown and try to raise the bar
just come out of the clouds and begin the climb
March ahead one step at a time

Pause sometimes to stare at the view
Feel this moment, make memories a few
Sometimes the golden sunshine and the lovely hue
Or the muddy trail you are just passing through

Because what you see now you will not see again
the warmth of the sun and the chills of the rain
and all the mysteries of this glorious mountain
The dare of the climb and the thrill of the cliff and the peacefulness of the plain

Once in a while you would hit a rock
With a hurt toe, you would want to stop
but don't lose hope just learn to cope
it's all worth for the delightful view at the top
This is the hike of a lifetime
so just march ahead one step at a time

Harding Ice Field hike in Alaska

The Mist

Tiny droplets hanging in the air
Ceasing softly layer after layer
Could do wonders but so unaware
that's why hasten to disappear

Could hold off the bright beam flowing from the Sun
Could obscure the large columns of the seaside town
Could swallow the crown of the lofty mountain
Could shroud the boundlessly expanding ocean

If only aware
will stay stronger
and hold on for longer
and will be able to conquer

While walking on the Lands End trail in San Francisco on a foggy day !!

Conform

On a cloudy day when they all gathered
The doubts appeared, the beliefs shattered
She felt that she didn't belong
The things they talked left her less flattered

The day passed by but it stayed on her mind
Maybe there was a problem so she didn't align
but she found none when tried to define
just that she was different from the other kind

So she decided it wouldn't upset her
Being like others is not what matters
She doesn't have to try to belong
she will do what suits her better

All the unspoken rules she will live free from
It's easy for everyone if you conform
but life is not about following the norms
